Im Monat März gibt es wieder neue Releases für Wasteland Warfare und Fallout Factions, informationen zu den kaufbaren Optionen in der Fallout App und eine Info zu kommenden Events. Legen wird los:
Releases in März?
Im März gibt es keine Releases, sondern Vorbestellungen: Die neue Raider-Core-Box (aus Plastik), den Sheepsquatch und das erste Diorama Set mit dem Imposter Sheepsquatch und Aries. Für Factions kommen neue Würfel und ein Token und Gelände-Set hinzu. Das einzige, was ihr sofort bekommt ist die PDF (Fallout: Miniatures – In Sheeps Clothing Rules Pack). Beginn der Auslieferung ist erst Ende April bzw. Ende Juni für die Plastik-Püppchen.
Fallout: Miniatures – Cryptids – Sheepsquatch
Dieses Modell ist der Wahnsinn! Schockverliebt und bringt direkt wieder Lust an Fallout 76. Wer das Vieh nicht kennt:
Der Sheepsquatch basiert auf einer kryptozoologischen Legende aus den Appalachen, ähnlich wie der Mottenmann oder Bigfoot. In der Folklore wird er als großes, schafähnliches Wesen mit Hörnern und Klauen beschrieben, das in den Wäldern von West Virginia lauert. In Fallout 76 wurde der Sheepsquatch dann als mutierte Kreatur ins Spiel integriert und bekam eine eigene Hintergrundgeschichte, die ihn mit den geheimen Experimenten der Enklave in Verbindung bringt.

Fallout: Miniatures – Pylon Ambush Scenic Set
Hier scheiden sich die Geister: Eine Scenic Base kann eine großartige Idee sein – wenn man a) malen kann und b) genug Platz in der Vitrine hat. Für alle anderen ist dieses Set eine überteuerte Möglichkeit, zwei Miniaturen zu erhalten. Und ja, leider wird es diese nicht einzeln geben. Über 60 Euro für zwei Minis und eine große Base ohne spielerischen Nutzen – entscheidet selbst, ob euch das euer Hobby-Budget wert ist.

Fallout: Miniatures – Wasteland Raiders Core Box (Plastic)
Nach drei Nuka-World-Raider-Boxen bekommen wir endlich eine Neuauflage einer OG-Box – oder auch nicht. In einer kleinen Umfrage in unserer Facebook-Gruppe hoffte die Mehrheit auf eine neue Brotherhood– oder Supermutanten-Box. Modiphius hat zugehört… und uns ignoriert. Stattdessen gibt es – nach 42(!) neuen Raidermodellen in den letzten 12 Monaten (3×10 Nuka-World-Raider, 3×3 Nuka-World-Leader, 3 Crater-Modelle) – nochmals 8 Raider. Danke, danke, danke!

Fallout: Factions – Tokens and Terrain Pack 1
Für 22 Euronen kann man sich die Tokens + das Gelände aus der Nuka World Starterbox besorgen. Wer also Bock auf Fallout: Factions hat, aber nicht die Nuka World Starterbox haben will, kann sich jetzt hier zumindest neben den Core Regeln auch die Tokens zulegen. Bottle & Cappy All Fizzed Up
Eigentlich war Bottle und Cappy nur als Vorbesteller für das Nuka World Starterset erhältlich. Ende März wird es diese Mini für einen begrenzten Zeitraum nochmal verfügbar sein. Haltet also die Augen offen.

Klarheiten zur Fallout App (Android / iOS)
Ich habe Jamie mal gefragt, warum es für Fallout: Factions keine Einzelkäufe in der App gibt (zum Beispiel mehr Slots und die einzelnen Fraktionen), sondern nur im Abo erhältlich sind.
Jamie erklärt, dass es keine Einzelkäufe für Fallout: Factions geben wird, weil das Abonnement die Zukunft der App sichert. Es gibt laufende Kosten, insbesondere für Server und Datenbank-Hosting, die mit steigender Nutzung wachsen. Der größte Kostenfaktor ist jedoch die Entwicklung – sei es für neue Inhalte, Funktionen oder notwendige Anpassungen durch externe Änderungen, wie kürzlich bei einer Google-API. Ohne das Abo würde irgendwann das Geld für den Support fehlen, und er müsste entscheiden, ob er die App unbezahlt weiterführt oder die Community enttäuscht.
Er räumt ein, dass er mit seinem heutigen Wissen keine Einzelkäufe für Kartenpakete mehr anbieten würde, da sie zwar für die Nutzer wertvoll sind, aber auf seine Kosten gehen. Die App hat in fünf Jahren nie Gewinn gemacht. Trotzdem wird er für Fallout: Wasteland Warfare weiterhin Einzelkäufe anbieten, da er es versprochen hat. Fallout: Factions war ursprünglich als separate App mit eigenem Abo geplant, aber er hat es als Kompromiss in das bestehende Abo integriert. Er erwartet, dass Spieler das Abo monatsweise buchen, wenn sie aktiv spielen, und es pausieren, wenn sie es nicht nutzen.
TL:DR: Wer Factions in der App nutzen will, muss ein Abo abschließen. Für Wasteland Warfare wird es – aus einem Versprechen heraus – weiterhin Einzelkäufe geben.

I get asked this question from time to time over email, so I hope you’ll forgive me for copy/pasting the answer.
There are no plans to offer a standalone purchase. There are lots of small reasons why I’ve taken this decision, but the main reason is that the subscription safeguards the future of the app. There are ongoing costs, including hosting the server and database, for which the cost is based on usage. Given the current trend, that cost will grow over time. But the biggest cost is development, whether that is time taken to add new content, new features, or other work outside of our control. For example, Google recently updated a payments API and required us to make changes to the app in order to keep up. It’s not the first time, and whenever it happens I have to drop everything for a week or more to keep the app alive. The subscription is the only thing financially justifying that work. With one off purchases, I know that one day the app revenue will dry up and I’ll be forced to choose between supporting an app that makes no money or disappointing the community.
Honestly, with what I know now, I would never have offered standalone card packs. I understand that they represent value to the end user (which is why I offered them at the outset) but that value comes at the cost of the developer, and we’re already talking about an app that has never broken even in 5 years of development and support. But I will continue to offer standalone purchases for the life of Wasteland Warfare because that was the promise I made at the outset. Fallout: Factions was originally planned as a separate app with its own subscription, but folding it into the existing subscription was the best concession I could make to the community.
In short, Fallout: Factions is effectively a new product that happens to be part of a subscription. You won’t get as much value for the subscription as someone who doesn’t own the card packs, in the same way that I don’t get as much value from Netflix if I own most of the movies on DVD. A monthly subscription is priced less than a gaming table at a local gaming store, and I would fully expect players to pay for a month at a time when they are actively playing and cancel the subscription when not.
